Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been held at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. A police spokesman said: "At 1711 police were called after a disturbance at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. "A 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and is currently in detention at Heathrow police station," he added. A BAA spokeswoman at Heathrow Airport said "Police today boarded a British Airways plane and removed a passenger." Naomi Campbell was sentenced to do community work in New York last year after being convicted of assault. She was made to mop floors and clean toilets for five days, as a punishment for throwing a mobile phone at her maid. Past allegations There have been several other allegations of assault against Ms Campbell over the years, most of them involving her staff. In 2000 she pleaded guilty to attacking her personal assistant, Georgina Galanis, with a phone. She agreed to attend anger management classes. The same year another personal assistant, Vanessa Frisbee, also claimed she had been attacked. Naomi Campbell denied it. In 2003 another personal assistant, Simone Craig, sued Ms Campbell, accusing her of holding her hostage and throwing a phone at her. This was also denied. In 2004 police in New York received a complaint from her housekeeper, Millicent Burton, that she had been punched and scratched during an argument. No further action was taken.
